On the afternoon of 17 October 2023, the Civil Engineering and Development Department and Ove Arup &amp; Partners held a consultation meeting at the Henry G. Leong Yau Ma Tei Community Centre, consulting various organisations representing persons with disabilities, with Senior Project Officer Wilson Lau Kwok Lam in attendance.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Representatives from the Civil Engineering and Development Department and Ove Arup &amp; Partners outlined the initial concept for the reconstruction of the Cheung Chau Ferry Pier, proposing to construct a new pier approximately 50 metres north of the existing one, featuring underground, first-floor, and rooftop levels. Facilities such as wayfinding paths, passenger lifts, and Braille signage will be provided within the premises.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the meeting, the Senior Project Officer expressed concerns about the accessibility facilities at the pier and emphasised the need for an electric wheelchair charging station.
