Upon the invitation of the Peak Tramways Company Limited, we visited Garden Road, the Peak Tram Station, and the Sixth Generation Peak Tram in October and November 2022 to inspect the related barrier-free facilities and provide improvement suggestions. Member William Au Wing Kwong and Kitty Chow Kit Yee, along with representatives from RAHK, attended the inspection activities.

Under the guidance of Peak Tram staff, we started at the barrier-free pathway at Garden Road Tram Station, testing features such as tactile maps, service counters, and gate machines.

We provided feedback on the tilted angle of tactile maps, the lack of Braille information at service counters, and the inconvenient Octopus card readers for informing visually impaired individuals.

Subsequently, we boarded the Sixth Generation Peak Tram to the Peak Tram Station. During the journey, we made suggestions regarding the waiting area on the tram, Braille information inside the tram, and the audio announcements at intermediate tram stops. We hope that the Peak Tram Company will adopt our suggestions to further enhance the accessibility levels of the tram and stations and optimise the service facilities.
